[July 2018] After marathon negotiations, union members at WAP unanimously approved a strong contract

After two years of non-stop contract negotiations and one draft contract that was voted down, members of CWA 6186 at the non-profit Workers Assistance Program voted to ratify a strong agreement. The new contract included major steps forward on some key issues:
  • a $15 minimum wage for all current employees and a $14/hour minimum for new hires
  • a minimum, $.25/hour raise for all employees
  • no changes to job titles for current employees
  • possibilities to negotiate additional raises in March 2020 and March 2021
  • $1,000 bonus for all employees contingent on sale of some current office space
