Texas State Employees Union is a 12,000 member, statewide local of the Communications Workers of America. We are organizing state workers in a grassroots campaign to:
  • Win fair treatment on the job
  • Win a decent standard of living
  • Win resources for quality services for our people
  • Defeat *privatization & other attacks on workers & social services
    *Privatization is a national fad among those who want to cancel the social contract to care for our own ill, young, elderly, and poor. Texas has become the national laboratory for attempts to radically privatize public services, and for a grassroots movement that is defeating these attacks.

We believe in:
  • A labor movement that is part of a broad and deep coalition that can win social, economic, and labor justice for all people.
  • Uniting workers by defeating racism, sexism, homophobia, and all forces that divide us
  • A labor movement fueled by grassroots, bottom-up democracy and activism
  • Building union power by organizing the unorganized
