WELCOME TO YOUR
TEXAS STATE EMPLOYEES UNION WEBSITE

We are 11,635 state workers in fifty-three state agencies, twenty-four university locations, and workers in local MHMR authorities, local and county government, and several private sector companies. We are organizing and mobilizing in a grassroots campaign to:

  • Win a decent standard of living
  • Ensure quality services to the People of Texas
  • Win fair treatment on the job
  • Defeat privatization, downsizing, and other attacks on workers and on public services
TSEU is local 6186, a statewide local of the Communications Workers of America and is affiliated with the Texas AFL-CIO. CWA is 630,000 people working in telecommunications, media and journalism, public services, higher education, health care, law enforcement, and airlines across the U.S. We believe in
  • The labor movement as a movement for social justice, uniting workers by defeating racism, sexism, & other forces that divide us
  • A Labor movement fueled by grassroots, bottom-up democracy and activism
  • Building union power by organizing the unorganized
  • A labor movement that is a part of a broad & deep coalition that can win social, economic, & labor justice for all.
