Pay Raise Post Cards

_____ Telling legislators that tens of thousands of state employees are serious about our pay raise. Get every co-worker to send Pay Raise Post Cards.
_____ Pay Raise Post Cards are a two-card set. One is for your state representative, the other is for your state senator. Our goal is to send hundreds to every member of the Texas Legislature

Pay Raise Post Card steps:

1. Get a supply of post cards, legislator district guides, and tally sheets from your organizer, TSEU committee member or TSEU office. If in doubt, call (512) 448-4225
2. Get co-workers to sign the cards. Don’t just hand them out, ask them to fill them out on the spot. Help them look up their legislators: doing this together helps more people learn who represents them.
3. Ask everyone to give you 48¢ for the stamps. This is a small commitment to ask, especially non-members who are letting you do all the work.
4. Count how many cards you have for each senator and representative. Make a list of who sent the cards.
5. Put stamps on them and mail them. Your TSEU organizer can help you get a supply of stamps to get the ball rolling.
6. Send/ email/call in the card tally information to your TSEU organizer or office.

Pay Raise Bumper Stickers

_____ They make a difference. When people see TSEU bumper stickers on streets and in parking lots they understand that organized state employees are a presence in the community. It’s part of creating a movement that can push through a real pay raise.
_____ There will be hesitation because people think it doesn’t look cool to have bumper stickers on their car, they are afraid it will hurt the paint, etc etc. Be first to put one on, then be pushy: our pay raise is important. And it will be seriously cool if TSEU bumper stickers are suddenly everywhere. They can go on the back glass if necessary. Put out the message in your community: there are lots of us, we are united, we need a pay raise.

Bumper Sticker Steps:

1. Get some from your TSEU committee member, organizer, or office.
2. Put one on your car.
3. Get every other member to put one on their car.

Q. Can non-members have a Pay Raise Bumper Sticker?
A. Yes, but only if a member puts it on their car.
